These are three of the kitchen trends we are absolutely loving in 2025, and definitely keeping for the year.

You may have seen us post about this on our social media, so we wanted to delve into it a bit more for you!

The kitchen is the heart of the home, and in 2025, we can see it’s all about blending style, function, and personality. Whether you’re planning a full remodel or looking for small upgrades, these kitchen trends will help you create a space that feels both timeless and on-trend.

1. Two-Tone Cabinets

Benefit

Why choose just one color when you can have two? Two-tone cabinets are a game-changer in kitchen design, allowing you to mix light and dark tones or pair bold colors with natural wood.

What does it do?

This approach adds depth, contrast, and a custom feel to your space. Whether it’s navy blue lowers with crisp white uppers or a warm walnut paired with soft beige, this trend is here to stay. Two-tone cabinetry also helps to define different zones in the kitchen, making the space feel more dynamic and intentional.

How to incorporate this trend

  • Choose a darker shade for lower cabinets and a lighter tone for uppers to create an open, airy feel.
  • Experiment with bold hues like emerald green or deep plum for a unique, statement look.
  • Pair natural wood with a painted finish to add warmth and texture.

2. Statement Backsplashes

Benefit

Backsplashes are no longer just practical. They’re a statement piece.

What does it do?

Geometric tiles, textured finishes, and bold marble veins are transforming kitchen walls into works of art. A striking backsplash can elevate even the simplest of kitchens, adding personality and visual intrigue to your cooking space. Whether you opt for large slabs of veined marble or handcrafted Moroccan tiles, your backsplash can serve as the focal point of the kitchen.

How to incorporate this trend

  • Opt for full-height backsplashes to create a seamless, luxurious look.
  • Mix materials like stone and glass for added depth and contrast.
  • Choose bold colors or patterns to add personality to a neutral kitchen.

3. Open Shelving

Benefit

Minimalist yet stylish. Open shelving is perfect for showcasing curated pieces, seasonal décor, or your favorite kitchenware.

What does it do?

This trend helps create an airy, open feel while offering a functional way to display your personality. Whether you opt for rustic wooden shelves or sleek floating options, this design choice keeps your kitchen looking effortlessly chic. It’s also a great way to keep everyday items within easy reach while adding a decorative touch to your space.

How to incorporate this trend

  • Use natural wood shelves for a warm, organic feel.
  • Style with a mix of functional and decorative pieces, such as ceramics, cookbooks, and greenery.
  • Keep it clutter-free by limiting items to a curated selection.

Designing the perfect kitchen layout involves balancing functionality, aesthetics, and personal preferences. Here's a comprehensive guide from our interior designer's perspective: The Working Triangle Principle: In definition, the working triangle connects the three main work areas: the sink, hob and refrigerator. This minimises the distance between these 3 areas to increase efficiency. Kitchen Layout Types: The L-Shaped kitchen is efficient for small to medium-sized kitchens and allows for a good working triangle, similarly with the Galley kitchen which is best for small spaces; ensuring everything is within easy reach. The U-Shaped layout kitchen provides ample counter space and storage; ideal for larger kitchens, whilst an Island and Peninsula kitchen add additional workspace and storage, enhancing your social entertainment space. Zoning: A Preparation Zone located between the fridge and the sink; includes worktop space for chopping and mixing. Whilst your Cooking Zone with your centrally located hob/oven area with surrounding worktop space with storage for pots and pans. Then the Cleaning Zone, with your sink area near the dishwasher and rubbish bin.
